| I don't count it as a sandwich. It's basically one roll around the hotdog so...Yeah I don't know. I don't consider it a sandwich for sure. |

| well you both are because a sub is also a sandwich, as is a burger (whether or not it's roll is one piece) I need a NEW argument from y'all if you're trying to say it's not a sandwich! The one piece of bread argument is hereby |

| If we're going there, then I'd say it depends on what's on the hot dog I mean, a plain hot dog is just one piece of meat in bread. You (hopefully) wouldn't take one or two cold cut(s), stick it between two slices of whole grain, and call it a sandwich. So a plain hotdog isn't a sandwich. But, if it has condiments on it, then it can be called a sandwich, because then it's a Full Sandwich and not just a slab of meat with bread |

| I see that point, and it actually does make a reasonable amount of sense to me. However I would then also ask: is a plain hamburger with no additional toppings or condiments a sandwich? I would say yes. All in all, I would say my interpretation of a sandwich is not very strict. Food with some real nutritional value (to eliminate buttered toast) contained either in or on (open faced is a thing) bread. The bread could take the form of slices, a roll, a bun, a croissant, a bagel, etc. I'd consider all those sandwiches. And therefore, I rest my case. A hot dog IS a sandwich.
Edit: I think you're right that a single cold cut on a roll wouldn't count, but just because it's such a small amount of meat, not because it's one piece. |

| Both subs and burgers have a top and bottom though, and a hotdog does not. Hotdog buns go around the insides.
