Avatar: Scorching Earth // Not Accepting!

Lí was a bit relieved when Xi said that they could get clothes by going to fetch some mushrooms for dye, buuuut, Kesuk did NOT seem to agree. After grabbing the bag that Xi offered, he stormed out of the shop. Lí said, "Sorry Xi, he's normally SUPER cheery, but I think his bed was a little too hard last night and now he's a bit grumpy. But don't you worry, we'll get that dye!"

Following Kesuk out the door, Lí caught up to the waterbender and began marching along behind him.

Zasi blinked, watching Kesuk aggressively grab the bag and make his way out of the shop. She was about to apologize when Lí spoke. With a small giggle and a shrug, she gave her best 'who knows' face to Xi-Lin. "You'll have those mushrooms in no time! Thank you!" She turned and ran after the group. She caught up with the group and slowed down. "I feel like he doesn't like us now. That, or he is scared of you, Kesuk." She paused for a moment before letting out a small chuckle. "I would probably go with being afraid of you."

The other two caught up with Kesuk quickly as he walked through the town toward the north. Zasi commented about how the shopkeeper must be scared of him now, and Kesuk shrugged. "I don't particularly care if he's scared of me. Once we get out of here, we'll never see him again. Even if we do see him again...I just don't care." It bothered people sometimes, that Kesuk didn't really care about people he didn't know. But then, he didn't care about those people's opinions either, so.

The three of them crossed through town and entered the woods that were located to the north. It wasn't a huge forest, but still decently large. Hopefully it wouldn't take them long to find this spirits-damned cave, because Kesuk was getting more irritable by the second.

Lí Ren - Male - 19 - Earthbender

Lí chucked to himself about the shopkeep being afraid of Kesuk- Kesuk said he didn't care, and of course, he probably didn't but Lí couldn't help but poke fun at him a bit: "Aww come on buddy, put on that big old grin of your when we get back, and he'll see that you're almost as lovable as me! He'll never guess that Zasi is the one he should REALLY be afraid of!"

Kesuk looked at Lí incredulously. Then he realized the earthbender was being sarcastic. Probably. Even though Kesuk was often sarcastic himself, he sometimes didn't understand Lí's...unique brand of sarcasm. And with his sour mood, Kesuk really wasn't in the mood for Lí's jokes. Just as Kesuk was about to make a bitingly sarcastic comment in return (one that he may or may not have regretted later), something whistled past Kesuk's ear and thudded into the trunk of a tree behind him.

Kesuk knew the sound of an arrow flying through the air when he heard it. He quickly turned to the left. Several men with bows were standing on a ridge, and, lo and behold, there was a cave behind them. Kesuk side-stepped to behind the cover of a tree-trunk, grabbing Zasi and Lí by the arms and pulling them with him.

"I think we found our cave. Lí, can you take them out with some rocks. Or give us some better cover than this?"

The airbender opened her mouth to argue that she wasn't someone people would be scared of, but a flurry of arrows caught her off guard. She noticed there was a group of people near the cave. What were they doing this far out in the woods? Just as Zasi was about to ask what the plan was, Kesuk asked Lí for help. She furrowed her brows. "Just because I'm nice, doesn't mean I can't help!" As she spoke the last words, she used her bending to blow some air towards them, knocking them off balance. With a second gust and using more force, she managed to push the group of men back some, towards the cave. Some of the men tumbled backwards. She nodded and she turned to Lí. "Okay, now you can do your thing."

Lí realized what was going on about half a second after Kesuk yanked him behind a big tree trunk. He quickly got up and settled into as firm of a horse stance as he could under the circumstances of arrows flying by him, and just as he was about to try and raise a wall of dirt in front of them, he saw the archers stumble a bit. Looking around in surprise, he saw Zasi directing an even stronger air current at the men, and 3 of them flew backwards into the cave, while the 2 remaining were stumbling back and trying to regain their balance. Using this opportunity, Lí constructed a ramp up to the edge of the ridge, roughly 8 feet up and 12 feet away from them. It took just about all his strength, as he was used to throwing rocks, but he still managed it. Wiping a bead of sweat from his brow, he said to Zasi, "Nice one! Now let's get in there!"

Kesuk realized his mistake in not including Zasi in his little plan when the small airbender glared at him a bit and used her bending to push their attackers backwards. He put aside his irritation with this whole job just long enough to tell her, "Good job," while Lí made them a way up to the cave with his earthbending. Making the ramp seemed to take quite a bit out of Lí; hopefully he would still have enough energy to fight, because Kesuk didn't want any more delays.

The three of them ran up the earthen ramp Lí had made while the archers and soldiers were still trying to catch their balance. They all had weapons, which meant that likely none of them were benders. That would make this easy. When they reached the top of the ridge, Kesuk channeled his annoyance into his fighting and brought his staff around full-force in a side-strike that slipped under the sword of one of the men, hitting him in the stomach with an audible thud. The force of the strike sent him stumbling backwards. The sooner they could finish these men off, the better.

Zasi smiled a bit when she was praised by both of her teammates, as they could be called. She quickly ran up the ramp. She winced when she heard a solid thud. Part of her felt bad for them, but they had fired shots first so it was fine. Right? "You did good with the ramp too!" She called to Lí as a man tried to swing at her. Letting out a small yelp she jumped back and pushed him forward, a lot harder than she meant. The man went flying a ways before smacking into the ground. She opened her eyes wide. "Sorry! That wasn't what I meant to do!" She called to the now winded man as she grabbed her staff that was slung around her back. With that, she made her way down the ledge towards the cave, where the men she had pushed before were beginning to stand up. One person in particular had fully stood and was trying to assess the situation. She shut her eyes tight and swing her staff. Opening her eyes again, she noticed he was slumped to the ground again. She muttered 'sorry' again.

Lí followed Kesuk and Zasi up ramp, panting a bit with exertion, just in time to hear zasi apologize to a man she just knocked out, and then watch her swing wildly at another, leaving him unconscious on the cave floor as well. In the time that her eyes had been shut, one of the archers several yards from Zasi had righted herself and was nocking an arrow on her bow. The archer drew back as Zasi made amends with the 2nd man she had taken out. Acting quickly, Lí raised a small rock into the air and sent it straight for the archer's bow hand. Probably with at least a broken finger or two, the woman's bow slipped out of her left hand... but since she was still holding the bowstring with the arrow, the bow itself flew backwards and struck the woman square in the face. She blinked several times, and fell onto her back. Lí called out to Zasi- "Nice hit! But maaaybe keep your eyes open next time!"
