'Sup?

What's up, everyone? Some of you may know me as horsecrazy from Horse Academy or Shinokage from the old RPF. I found this place when Kemi messaged me on deviantArt (and it took me seven months to see it because I'm that inactive over there). I've kind of gotten out of the roleplaying scene lately, but I haven't stopped writing at all, so fear not, the skills are still with me. I don't know if I'll enter many RPs simply because I can't promise consistent activity (I have two jobs irl as well as university), but I'll pop on to chat from time to time, so log in to the chatbox, everyone! I've personally seen how much fun chatboxes can be when several people are on at once. If you do manage to get me to RP with you, be prepared for long, detailed posts. I'm a writer, I can't help it.

Anyway, moving on. About me, I guess. Well, I like reading, writing, anime, and video games. Feel free to talk to me about any of the them. Right now I'm trying to finish Skyrim and Assassin's Creed IV, but we'll see how that goes. Also feel free to recommend me any of your favorite books if you want. I'll read pretty much anything, but my least favorite genre is pure romance (with the exception of anime and manga; for some reason I'm fine with romance manga and anime). I'll still read romance novels from time to time, though. The only thing I really can't stand is a romance situation where there's a stupid love triangle and the main girl dithers and dithers over who she'll chose as her man. It's entirely frustrating and I don't understand it, so at that point I'll just quit reading. The romance I enjoy the most is well-written with action or another genre alongside it.

I also love learning languages. I took four years of high school Spanish, I'm in ASL classes at college, and I'm learning Japanese and Russian on the side. I adore animals as well. I ride horses (mostly Western and bareback, but yes, Kemi, I did try English a couple times, and how on earth do you deal with those freakishly high stirrups, I don't GET IT), although I don't compete in any events, I just ride for fun.

@Sherlocked Haha, hi Moon! Kemi told me you were here, I'm so excited to talk to you again! By the way, feel free to call me HC or whatever you want, I'll respond XD I am doing well, if a little stressed because, hell, I'm growing up. We're not the little kids playing Facebook games and RPing about wolf packs that we used to be, Moon. (Yes, that is a subtle cry for help...help me XD) (Also, do you remember our wolf pack RP? That was so much fun!)

@ursus Hola! Thanks for the welcome! It should only get really crazy around midterms and finals week, and my classes this semester should be fun (I finally got into Astronomy!!). Plus my jobs aren't too taxing (one is a weekday job, the other is just on weekends), though I might have to get another one since tuition keeps going up. Oh, well, c'est la vie.

Hello! :3c I dunno if you'll take any recommendations from me, but Home or the Brave by Kathrine Applegate and Anne of Green Gables series is my favorite books I like. :oc Gee I feel you on the romance thing too it's really unnecessary and over done. =o=

@Sherlocked I feel you on the big year thing, definitely. I'm going into my last half of university. Once I graduate, I'll have to be an adult. I'm not ready! I want to sixteen again! I should check out HA again, but I never have the time to get on every day and the horses get old so freakin' fast, it's impossible to do anything with them if you're not on consistently.

@Namelesskitten I love your username, lol! And certainly I will take recommendations! I never got into the Anne of Green Gables series like a lot of girls did, but I've never heard of Home of the Brave. I'll definitely check it out, thanks! I should just make a thread for people to rec anime, manga, books, and movies or something. Start compiling a nice big list of summer reading when I'm already halfway through summer, lol :P

And yes, I don't know why I hate love triangles so much, but I really do. Like The Selection series. I was really enjoying that series because it was a very interesting setting for a romance, and it had great potential for a political subplot with the rebels (if you haven't heard of this series, I've totally lost you, lol) but the way the main girl wavered and dithered between the two guys totally killed it for me. I quit halfway through the second book. And then lots of authors seem to think that romance (and a love triangle especially) can just be thrown into their action/fantasy/etc novels willy-nilly. It's really good if it's done right, but it's downright stupid if it's not. I personally think that the Hunger Games could have been better without a love triangle. The romance bit with Peeta was fine, it's just Gale had absolutely no purpose there as a love interest. At all. At least not after the first book/movie. Childhood friend/moral support, sure. Love interest? No. Can you tell this pisses me off? I'll stop now, I really will, lest I risk pissing others off XD

Yeah no I never heard of it, but that's okay. I don't have a wide genre of books to be honest. '>w> Ahhhhh geeee buddy I feel you and actually that's one of the reasons why I never watched/read Hunger Games because I knew they draw readers in more with unnecessary romance triangle with the female main character and that just puts off so much disinterest to me. Oh gosh it's alright, but yeah it might have been a whole essay you wrote there. X3c

I should really write a college essay on this. See what my literature professor thinks. Maybe make it my dissertation if I ever go for an English PhD: 'The Stupidity of Badly-Written Romances and Pointless Love Triangles in Modern-day Novels'...think they would go for it? I'll change the literature world with this, I promise!!
