Avatar: Scorching Earth // Not Accepting!

Leon stuck the food into his bag, intending to eat it away from the camp where he could feel less on edge. When the warning of firebender went out through the camp he stiffened, it took a brief moment to know it was not him being found out. What then? An attack? He looked to the sky, no smoke, not an attack yet. Scouts then? No, scouts were not so careless and there would still be signs, messenger hawks or something. If not scouts or an attack then either infiltrators or someone like him who didn't know how to blend.

Infiltrators were hard to deal with, possibly looking for sympathy but if it was them this would be a sloppy attempt, something from early in the war. This, this was more likely someone like him. Someone about to face the mob justice he feared. He looked over his shoulder back to the woman's hut, the child looking out, "Stay inside."

Leon broke into a sprint, he had to catch up. He couldn't let these people cross a line they could never come back from. He couldn't stand by and let someone die. This wasn't a battle, people die in battle defending themselves from the monsters that come from a unforgiving land that created them. This was a hunt and it wasn't after the monsters they feared, as far as he was concerned it was likely after victims of a worse monster. He just had to catch up, whatever it took before someone crossed the line. He thanked the spirits that his training kept him fit and the years of traveling unforgiving lands let him move through the trees quickly. He had a chance, a slim one, but a chance to catch up.

After retrieving her weapon from her stone tent, Kyori made it back to the side of camp where the firebender vanished just as Li and Yotem disappeared into the trees after her. She pushed herself faster in attempt to catch up, but she was half a dozen yards behind the two benders. As she ran, Ky drew her katana from its sheath and sliced a thin branch out of her way, throwing herself into the forest in pursuit. Not this time, Fire Nation...

As Lí plowed through the forest underbrush with the fierce looking waterbender, he was consumed with an uncharacteristic rage he had never felt before. When he'd seen his village burned, sure, he was angry, but without a specific target for that anger, the predominant emotion was grief. Now, that anger and grief had an outlet. He wasn't sure what he would do when he caught the firebender, but he knew that he couldn't let her get away. With the girl just out of sight through the thick brush, his years of practice tracking animals on the hunt kicked in; he almost subconsciously picked up on the bent and broken branches, and the grass and leaves compacted into the dirt. Lí followed these signs as the sounds of clamor from the village began to fade, but then he noticed something odd. The spacing between the tracks was very odd, and they didn't look like they could have been made by a single person. That's when it struck him- there must be two of them! This thought made him a bit nervous at first, but then he became even more determined to catch these firebenders. If there was two of them, that only made it more likely that they were up to something nefarious. Besides, he heard someone from the camp following after them, and with whoever that was plus this scary waterbender on his side, he didn't feel like he had much to fear from two firebenders.

Zasi - Airbender-  16 -tags//Kesuk, Yotem

Zasi opened her mouth to speak after the boy made his last comment. "Trusting someone and helping someone are two different things." Who did he think he was to talk that rudely to a stranger who only wanted to help? She wanted to protest further, but she was cut off by someone. A firebender on the island? Zasi went to call out to the strange man, wanting to catch his name. He bolted immediately and she was left standing there. She turned to Kesuk. Surely the Fire Nation wasn't attacking,  was it? There would have been a much larger commotion if it was them. She bounced on her toes, turning her whole body to Kesuk. "These could be refugees like us, why are people chasing them? Come on, we have to go stop them." She started walking backwards before turning and heading the direction the others went.

Kesuk sighed as Zasi went off. He had a feeling the girl was going to be an absolute danger magnet. Well, this was fine by him. She could be right. He wasn't so stupid as to think that every firebender was pure evil by nature. The Fire Nation as a whole, the people who gave the soldiers their orders, those were the people to blame. Some firebenders were probably deserters or refugees themselves. And in that case, Kesuk didn't care about them and Zasi could do whatever she wanted with them. Or she could be wrong and the firebenders could be attacking the refugee camp, in which case Kesuk would get to bash some firebender heads in. Either way worked for him. He followed after Zasi.

Seijin was running so hard she could hear her pulse in her ears. She glanced back to see 5 or more people chasing her from behind, seemingly not too far off. She had to hurry and lose them sooner rather than later. This'll be better than nothing I guess, she thought as she jeerd over to the right so she could jump over a log and slide under a few waist-high branches. Squinting her eyes, Seijin could see a small stream intertwined with rocks ahead. She raced towards them, hoping they could be another obstacle for her pursuers. She jumped on a few of the larger rocks and almost slipped on their mossy exterior, but reached the other side of them and continued to run.

Yotem ran, faster than he ever had before. The trees and flora around him morphed into a green blur. His eyes were straight forward, his pulse pounding in his ears. In this moment, he was a true animal; instincts were the only thing driving him. He would not give in. Yotem skid to a stop in the forest, eyes darting from one location to another. The other earthbender, who surprising kept up with Yotem, looked around as well. Then he spotted it; the red flash, this time manifesting itself into a person. His eyes locked onto his target and, without worrying about if the earthbender would follow him, he was off. The only feeling in his head was anger, the only thought in his mind was to kill. And he would not give this chance up. He chased the person relentlessly, his feet barely touching the ground as he ran. A log soon manifested in front of him, and in one fluid motion he leaped over it, not even remembering the feeling of the wood against his hand. He was closing in on her and fast. But his chances of actually catching her were getting slimmer, despite his determination and bloodlust. Soon he saw her jump over rocks and Yotem nearly gave up hope in frustration. That’s when it hit him; there was moss on the rocks, and she vaulted over a stream. Which only meant a water source, a weapon. Yotem stopped suddenly and whipped his hands up, feeling the pull of the water between his fingers. He channeled the water and connected them with the motion of his hands. As soon as he had a strong pull and a steady source, he shot his hands out, causing a jet of water after the girl The water touched the enemy’s feet and grabbed on. Yotem soon yanked his arms back, which caused the water to pull back, dragging the girl with it to the groud. Now was his chance. He could end it for her forever. He didn't even care if she wasn’t the one he was looking for, or even if she fought against people like that man; Yotem needed his revenge. Yotem dashed forward and jumped landing on the other side on the other side. He gripped his blades in his hands and ran, preparing to strike the girl, the weapons in his hands hungry to tear flesh without a second thought.

Zasi - Airebender - 16 - Tages//Kesuk,Yotem, Seijin

Zasi dashed after the group in pursuit of the firebenders. Her chest was heaving as she sprinted as fast her her tiny legs could take her. She gripped her staff with purpose as she ran. Stumbling upon roots and fallen branches was not a problem. She simply threw her weight onto the staff and flung herself over the obstacles. Eventually making progress, Zasi spotted blurs of movement as she approached. She saw one figure stop and she registered the body as the waterbender she had just spoken to. What was he... Zasi widened her eyes as the male began bending, throwing what was apparently a girl firebender to the ground. The waterbender suddenly drew to knives, and Zasi sprung into action. Pushing herself as hard as she could, she flung herself over the stream. With surprise, she realized she had landed fairly close to the scene. Zasi stuck a hand out, feeling her energy building up as she let out a breath. A burst of air flew from her hand, strong enough to offset the waterbender. Zasi silently apologized and hoped he would be ok. "Stop! We don't need to end anyone's life!" Zasi then ran in between the two benders and held up her staff, panting and scared of what would come next. She didn't know either of the benders, and she had no idea what they would do. The only thing she did know was that she would not let someone be killed without a valid reason. Wanting revenge on a nation was not a reason to kill someone with similar bending.

Kyori emerged from the trees near the stream and as soon as she saw Zasi jump between the waterbender and firebender, she slowed from a flat out run to a brisk, hostile walk. Ignoring whatever Zasi was saying about ending lives, Kyori shouted, anger rising in her voice as she stalked towards them.
"You!" she demanded, approaching Seijin with her sword drawn and aimed. "What do you think you're doing here? Spying? Looking around for the Fire Nation's next possible target?" With her free hand, Kyori immediately summoned stone shackles from the ground, encasing Seijin's ankles so she couldn't run away or at them.

Kesuk sprinted after Zasi, slightly surprised at the speed such a small girl could manage and making a mental note to make her put that speed to use next time they trained. Then Kesuk clenched his jaw when Zasi literally threw herself right into the middle of the fight scene that appeared to be going down. Could she get any more impulsive? Couldn't she perhaps wait for a few seconds to come up with a plan, or at least wait until he could catch up with her? He stopped abruptly a half dozen feet away from the fight as Zasi bent air to throw off the waterbender they had just met a few minutes ago; then she jumped in between the two probably-agressive benders. Kesuk struggled very hard not to smack his forehead with his palm. "Zasi, you idiot, what are you doing?" he called to her. It was one thing to join someone's side in a fight, but it was completely another to jump in the middle. That was just asking both parties to attack her. He settled into a light cat stance, staff ready, prepared to jump in with her should she be attacked. Though he normally wouldn't care, he also wouldn't just sit by and let a young girl, fighter though she may be, get beat up for her naïveté. Then an earthbender appeared on the scene to capture the firebender. Well, at least that was one taken care of. Kesuk settled back slightly to watch what would unfold, still ready in case he needed to fight.

(I think Li was the only one who saw him?)
