True, that's a good idea. But I feel like we should have an epic discovery of pet/taming/capture/befriending/whatever episode instead of just...getting it from the circus like, "Oh, here ya go." Yeah? No?

Yes on an epic discovery.

So far my list of what we have discussed is...

snow leopard caribou
deer dog
squirrel frog
fox leopard (a create our own)
polar dog
eel hound (runt)
mongoose lizard (runt and may edit it's looks slightly?)
create something else!

There's 8 options right there, and some of them were only mentioned once but I'll still stick 'em in the poll. Shall I post it?

No matter the choice there has to be a few things to consider
1. Personality, we need to have a general idea of how ours would act. Creatures can look cool but it still has to have a personality of its own.
2. Reason to be loyal. See I mentioned the abusive circus/traveling zoo because the Fire Nation wouldn't see something from another nation often. If it is something that can be taken or was tamed in the past then getting it out of an abusive situation results in that loyalty. The circus/zoo gives reason for it to be outside it's habitat.

Now, one thing we can do is for traveling in the fire nation sneaking around is use the three fire benders to our advantage. They learn the mannerism of soldiers who took whatever creature from whatever Nation it called home then "brought it to heel". Looting of that sort is not uncommon in war. They just need to fake the right tone and wording. They don't need to do it with a creature from the fire nation. In fact rather than a zoo for anything from the fire nation, I'd say find an injured one in the aftermath of a battle and help it.

When I worked on Leon, I considered what would happen if we had our own creatures, just in case. I knew it was unlikely but I put the research in. He would have either gotten a too stupid to live deer dog. Or a Raven Eagle. Now, those are interesting because they intercept Messenger Hawks. They can't carry stuff which is a downside but intercepting messages is a skill we can look at.

Something similar to the traveling zoo/abusive thing is rescuing an animal from poachers or a black market type of thing.

But yeah, I agree. The type of animal wouldnt matter much as far as fire nation sneaking goes (unless it was a flying bison, but we ain't doing that XD)

Ooooo the Messanger hawks! I always liked their design. That would but pretty cool. But I think whatever big animal and small animal we decide on should be pretty different with different skills ex: one flys, one doesn't

We could have a small flying pet (Eagle Raven/Messenger hawk/whatever) and a bigger traveling animal (fox-leopard/mongoose lizard/eel hound/whatever we choose).

And yes, I like the idea of a rescue from poachers or something! I was talking on the chatbox about how we could make that our first mission (cuz of course, getting a pet comes before finding the avatar or fighting the fire nation :P) and have our characters working out how they work together as a team with it.

Kind of off topic/Switching gears: Is there a specific time that works for everyone where we can all be on and RP together? Myd and I were talking on the chatbox and it might be good to figure this out so that way we can get plots rolling, characters can really interact with one another, and the group can form. ^w^ Idk if this'll work bc everyones on different time zones + has RL obligations but we can at least discuss the idea O:

Haha, same for me. At least until the 22nd of August when university starts again. Or actually, probably the 16th and 17th will be busy for me, because I have choir rehearsal camp all day those days. But other than that I should be free. And I have a pretty loose class schedule this semester, too, I think.

Awesome, awesome! Its usually easier for me to rp after 4-6pm EST because I do stuff with my parents during the day time. I'll be away the 5th, and the 17th-25th (disney trip woot woot), and then college starts the 26th. Not sure how demanding my schedule will be, but we'll see.
